If you’ve been trying to ditch caffeine, this golden milk latte recipe is a great alternative. It makes starting off your day easy and yummy!
Golden Milk is all the rage right now – and for good reason! This delightful, coconut-milk-based warm drink is bursting with health benefits, and is great for fighting inflammation! For an extra boost of gut-repair, I even added collagen into the mix!
What Gives Golden Milk Its Color?
The turmeric in this recipe not only gives the milk its golden color but its active chemical, curcumin, is a potent antioxidant praised for its ability to support your body’s response to inflammation! It is absorbed best when consumed with fat. By consuming it in a beverage like golden milk, you get local effects in the gut resulting in even more gut healing than just curcumin supplements alone can give you!
The added collagen can help prevent leaky gut because it’s full of amino acids and peptides that help maintain and promote optimal gut lining health. Collagen can also optimize the health of your muscles, bones, and joints, as well as your hair, skin, and nails.
Can I Add a Sweetener?
For me, the real star of the recipe is its delicious taste, which is fabulous just as it is. However, depending on where you are in your health journey, feel free to add a little sweetener, as tolerated.
